Chet’s back

To the Editor:

Warm and heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped me — especially those in Oak Bluffs, you know who you are — in searching for my beloved cat, Chet, who went missing on October 22, for the first time in nine and a half years. I am entirely thrilled to report that, after three weeks, I was reunited with Chet walking down East Chop Drive. He is fine.

I had begun to lose hope though, so I share the following lessons with you, which I learned from my experience. Listen to your still, small voice within, and never, ever give up hope. Animals are communicating with us through our love, if we only quiet ourselves and trust what we receive from them. We have a great deal to learn from animals. Reuniting with my Chet made my (early) Christmas. I wish the same for you. Happy holidays to you and yours.
