The 16th annual Reflections of Peace concert, a benefit for Hospice of M.V., is this Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Oak Bluffs. Each year, Kevin Ryan arranges for local and visiting musicians to perform. This year’s performers include Wesley Brown, Jan Hyer, and the singing ensemble Novum. Returning for the third year is special guest pianist Lisa Weiss.

Winter walking

Every season of the year, Polly Hill Arboretum offers something of beauty and interest to visitors. This Saturday, Dec. 8, join the staff for a look at plants. At this time of year, bark and tree structure stand out, along with fruits and berries. The tour, which is free, starts at 10 am and runs for a little over an hour. Hanukkah celebration

Join the Martha’s Vineyard Hebrew Center in the celebration of the first night of Hanukkah this Saturday, Dec. 8, at the center in Vineyard Haven. There will be live music, singing, latkes, and dreidel games; bring a vegetarian dish to share and a contribution for the Island Food Pantry. The event starts at 5 pm.
