Anna Karenina (R)

The late 19th-century Russian aristocrat Anna Karenina, questioning her happiness and marriage, enters into a life-changing affair with the affluent Count Vronsky. Starring Keira Knightley, Jude Law, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Argo (R)

A piece of recent history dramatized with real-time acting rather than special effects. In 1980, there was a joint CIA-Canadian secret operation to rescue six American diplomatic personnel out of revolutionary Iran. Starring Ben Affleck, who also directs; Bryan Cranston, John Goodman, Alan Arkin.

Flight (R)

An action-packed mystery in which a seasoned airline pilot attains hero status after miraculously crash-landing a big jet and saving nearly everyone on board. Questions arise about the hero. Starring Nadine Velazquez, Denzel Washington in a bravura performance, and Carter Cabassa.

Rise of the Guardians (PG)

The Sessions (R)

A romantic comedy about a man who has spent most of his life in an iron lung, played by John Hawkes. He wants to lose his virginity, gets approval from his priest, William H. Macy, and employs a professional sex therapist, Helen Hunt. This film is rated highly by most reviewers.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 (PG-13)

In the fifth and last film in the series, Bella is enjoying her new life and new powers after the birth of their daughter and her change to an immortal. Soon, however, their family bliss is threatened by a new menace, in perhaps the most complex of the movies. Starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner.

Wreck-It Ralph (PG)

A Disney animated film about a very large guy, a video game villain, who just wants to fit in while wreaking havoc to the arcade where he lives. Starring the voices of John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, and Jane Lynch.
