Martha's Vineyard Regional High School quarterback Alec Tattersall, who capped off his senior season as the Great American Rivalry Series MVP in a miraculous 27-26 comeback win over Nantucket on November 17, has landed on the pages of Sports Illustrated.

Tattersall joined five other standout student athletes from across the nation in the magazine's Faces in the Crowd feature for the December 10 issue, which hit newstands and the Internet on Wednesday at noon. Alec threw for 1,333 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2012, breaking the single-season record set by Jason Dyer in 1992.

A long-running feature that debuted in SI on January 9, 1956, Faces in the Crowd spotlights the accomplishments of amateur athletes.

Former MVRHS field hockey standout Liane Dixon also appeared in Faces in the Crowd in 2004, while she was playing at Northeastern University.
