To the Editor:
Just watched the NRA statement on the television today. The suggestion was made to use our retired policemen to protect our schools. Our State Police in this state get paid to hold construction road signs. They come from off Island to sit in their cars and talk on cell phones — I mean, direct traffic.
I think we could use their police training to protect our children in the schools, in our universities. I can hold a sign. I can motion the cars to go around the hole in the pavement. Let them protect and serve and let the rest of us hold the signs.
