The Martha's Vineyard Regional High School chess team won their first two regular season matches in the Southeastern Interscholastic Chess League at home Tuesday.  They beat Wareham High School in both matches. The Vineyarders won the first match by a score of 3 1/2 to 1 1/2 and the second match by a score of 3 games to 2.

A match consists of five boards each played by different players with the best player from each team playing on the first board. Draws count as one half point for each team.
