Dining with a sense of communityThe United Methodist Church has hosted the Monday Night Edgartown Community Suppers in the Old Whaling Church for two decades. Over these past two years, however, outreach leaders of the church have noticed a great increase in every category, from young families to seniors, those in great physical need, as well as those needing company and conversation. The weekly schedule of Island Faith Community suppers leaves Thursdays and Saturdays with no hot meals being offered. To help fill this void, the UMC-MV (United Methodist Church of Martha’s Vineyard) will use its new parish house commercial kitchen to host another “on-site, prepared from scratch” community supper every Saturday from January 12 through March 30 at the Trinity Parish House in Oak Bluffs. There will be no charge for these suppers, though donations are accepted.
