The Vineyard boys basketball team picked up Tuesday afternoon against Dartmouth where it left off in a win over Lexington on Sunday. The Vineyarders again played stiffling defense and executed a fundamentally sound, pateint game on offense to beat the Indians 63-46 at the Sancy.
The Vineyarders (9-3) held Dartmouth to only two points in the second quarter, while amassing a 39-17 lead by halftime. Jack Roberts put an exclamation point on what might have been the Purple’s best half of this season, by nailing a buzzer-beating three-pointer from half court. Nine Vineyarders in all got on the scoresheet in what was a complete team efffort.
“I thought, defensively, it was a good building point from the Lexington game, it was good to see,” coach Mike Joyce said, “And passing the ball, we shared the ball and ran such good offense today.”
Jack Roberts finished with 13 points and Navardo Anderson scored 10. Izak Browne and Jahmari Thomas each had nine. Liam Weston scored eight.
The Vineyarders travel to Taunton Friday for an Eastern Athletic Conference game against Coyle Cassidy.
