For the second consecutive year, “The booster club exceeded their expectations at the annual Vineyard Hockey Booster Club’s auction, thanks to the support received from teammates’ parents, alumni, and the community,” wrote Bill Davies, Booster Club President, in an email.

The auction, held this past Friday evening at Dreamland in Oak Bluffs, featured a visit from the hockey team, plenty of auction items to bid on, and music by Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish.

Assistant senior captain Brian Hurley started the evening off with a short speech thanking everyone, then master of ceremonies and veteran auctioneer Ken Goldberg took over, auctioning off the 30-plus items, which included four hours of yardwork done by the 23-player hockey team; tropical getaways; Red Sox, Bruins, and Patriots tickets, and much more.

The final amount raised had not been determind as of press time, but Mr. Davies said, “It was a great night for the Boys Hockey Program.”
