We're in the gun control fight

To the Editor:

I like to say when I'm going to the mainland that I am going to the "real world." Although I am lucky to live on one of the most beautiful islands on the planet, I know I am also a citizen of the USA. So I feel it important to be involved in issues of Martha's Vineyard, my country, and the world.

What has happened at Sandy Hook Elementary School has left me deeply concerned. Senator Dianne Feinstein has recently submitted a bill (Senate Bill 150) that I believe could help make our homes, schools, and gatherings safer. This bill also lists 2,200 weapons that will remain legally available to responsible human beings.

I hope we remember that "there but for the grace of God go I." We are in this together.
