The nonprofit Sail Martha’s Vineyard continues its winter tradition of hosting dinners and nautical presentations this Thursday, Feb. 7, with an event at the Sail M.V. headquarters in Vineyard Haven (112 Main Street).

From 1971 through 1975, youngster Sean Bercaw sailed around the world with his family on their 38-foot ketch, Natasha. After planning and saving for almost 18 years, the family sold everything they owned and sailed off on this voyage, according to the press release.

Three and a half years later, they returned having successfully circumnavigated the world. Through slides and stories, Mr. Bercaw will share his perspective of his family’s endeavor this Thursday starting at 6 pm.

Admission is $15, which includes light supper and beverages, and benefits Sail M.V., which offers sailing programs and educational opportunities for both children and adults. Call 508-696-7644 to make a reservation.
