Help change treatment guidelines for Lyme disease

To the Editor:

I picked up a tick on our vacation to the Vineyard this year. I developed the worst flu symptoms ever, then the bull’s-eye showed up. That was in early August. It’s now February and I am improving but still on IV antibiotics.

The reason I am writing is to have everyone sign the pending petition to the White House to push for overhauling the treatment guidelines for this devastating disease. The link is here,

You will need to create an account, but that should only take you a few minutes. If a summer visitor can pick up a tick that quickly, Island residents should be aware that there is help coming. We can get this petition through with a few more signatures, which will bring about a change to the treatment guidelines for Lyme. Thanks.
