Martha’s Vineyard Community Services has hired Nell Coogan as its new Director of Development and Community Relations, a role in which she will provide strategic direction and management to its fundraising and communications efforts, according to a press release.
“After a long period without a director, we are very excited that Nell has joined our management team,” Executive Director Julia Burgess said. “She brings high energy, organizing and communication skills, and a history of and commitment to working with the community.”
Ms. Coogan is an attorney and holds a master’s degree in public health. She is also the assistant coach of the MVRHS girls ice hockey team. Most recently she was the legislative liaison to Martha’s Vineyard.
Having celebrated more than 50 years of service, Community Services is hoping to increase its fundraising and outreach activity so that the Island may continue to benefit from its range of essential programs and services which are open to Vineyarders of all ages and from all walks of life, Ms. Burgess said.
