A nature walk, "The Taming of the Shrew," and roses for sale
Rare opportunity
The Trustees of Reservations will bring a group of walkers to a piece of property not normally open to the public this Sunday, Feb. 17. The walk, from 1 to 3 pm, features wetlands and trails leading to a north shore beach. Admission is $10; $3 for children. Call to reserve a space: 508-693-7662.
Perfect Valentine's antidote
The Vineyard Playhouse's Shakespeare for the Masses will perform "The Taming of the Shrew" at the Katharine Cornell Theatre in Vineyard Haven on February 15 and 16 at 7 pm. The shows are free, but donations are welcome and will go to The Vineyard Playhouse. Running time is approximately one hour.
Got roses?
Seventh-graders at the Tisbury School are selling roses today, February 14, from 2:40 to 4 pm, at the school in front of the cafeteria. Red roses are $5 each; $50 per dozen. Assorted colored roses are $4 each; $40 per dozen. Profits will benefit the class of 2014's trip to Washington, D.C.
