Edgartown favorites

To the Editor:

I am curious as to why your newspaper does not investigate why Edgartown town officials continue to approve everything that Gino Courtney and his family ask for.

Example 1: Outdoor seating on the terribly overcrowded sidewalk outside their Port Hunter Restaurant.

Example 2: Outdoor restaurant on North Water Street with music and an outdoor bar in the middle of three well respected inns.

Example 3: Most current example of blatant favoritism — they have been granted a seasonal liquor license on Main Street, despite the objections of other year-round liquor stores which remain open all year to serve residents.

Maybe the selectmen could insist that the Courtneys shovel the snow from in front of their hundreds of properties on Main Street and North Water Street and Summer Street, in trade for their blatant favoritism.
