Collaborative Music Jam

On Saturday, Feb. 23, David Stanwood will host a collaborative and improvisational music jam with guests including Alex Karalekas, Alysse Fischer, Jason Nichols, and Dukes County Love Affair, at the Pathways Gathering Space in Chilmark. Other performers include Mait Edey on the piano, and a collaborative performance of improv piano and dance with Mr. Stanwood and Caitlin Thurgood, with choreography by Marianne Goldberg.

Decoy painting for kids

The Martha’s Vineyard Museum invites children on vacation this Wednesday, Feb. 27, to learn how to paint decoys with Chris Murphy, co-curator of the museum’s current exhibit, The Art of the Hunt: Martha’s Vineyard Decoys. Learn about the different bird species that live on the Vineyard, see examples of painted decoys, and then children will paint their own wooden duck to take home. More vacation fun

On Thursday, Feb. 28, The Trustees of Reservations invites families to the Long Point Wildlife Refuge to complete a Quest and scavenger hunt. The Visitors Center will be open from 10 am to 2 pm with snacks and hot drinks. Admission is free; use the winter entrance by following Deep Bottom Road to Visitors Center.
