Apples to apples

This Friday, March 8, learn about New England apple history at Polly Hill Arboretum in West Tisbury. Apple expert John Bunker will talk about the role apples have played in American life for the past 400 years, when they were brought here by the early colonists. Also learn about today’s revival of heirloom varieties, and how to track down ancient local fruit trees. Admission is $10; $5 for arboretum members, and the talk is from 5 to 6 pm. Call 508-693-9426 for more information.
