Juniors to play tennis exhibition
Two members of the boys MVRHS state championship team will play a tennis exhibition at Vineyard Youth Tennis on Friday evening, March 8, at 5:30 pm. This is part of an ongoing Friday night exhibition series to continue over the next two months. Ryan Sawyer, who played number two doubles, will play against Patrick McCarthy, who played number two singles. Parents and children are encouraged to come out and watch the match.
Registration for USTA youth tourney
Sunday, March 10 is the deadline for the Boys and Girls USTA Tournament to be held at Vineyard Youth Tennis on March 16 to 17. Boys and girls 12- and 14-and-under singles divisions will be offered. Islander third in Buehring Marathon
James Lanctot, the Oak Bluffs assistant water superintendent, finished third overall and first in his age group at the Buehring Marathon, held March 3 at Camp Buehring in Kuwait, where he is currently stationed in the national guard.
