Crocuses, pinkletinks, and DQ provide the sights, sounds, and taste of the departing winter.
On Wednesday, the Dairy Queen on Upper Main Street, Edgartown opened for business for the season, and the line began to form.
Times correspondent Hallie MacCormack, a 10-grader at Martha's Vineyard Regional High School, waited for over a half an hour and ultimately ordered a chocolate Blizzard with Oreo Heath and Butter Fingers mixed in. Her friend Katy Gwynn, an 11th-grader, had the same order, but without the Oreo Heath.
High schoolers were released early Wednesday — not for DQ's opening. That was just a happy coincidence.
