With the Vineyarders up 43-41 with 2:28 left on the clock, the Island faithful were in high spirits. Tonight, fans will have a chance to say thanks for the fun at Dreamland.
JB Blau, the owner of Dreamland in Oak Bluffs, is throwing a "Champions Rally" tonight to celebrate the Martha's Vineyard boys basketball team's glorious ride to the MIAA state semifinal game in the TD Boston Garden.
The team lost to Danvers, 50-47, in a thrilling hard-fought game.
The free event begins at 5 pm at Dreamland in Oak Bluffs located opposite the Flying Horses. The rally, hosted by local sports announcer Ken Goldberg, will include speeches by Coach Joyce and others and a special introduction of the team.
Players will be posing for photos and kids of all ages are welcome, Mr. Blau said.
