Joseph J. Alconada of West Tisbury and formerly of Stoughton died at Windmere Nursing Home, Oak Bluffs on March 18. He was 83.
Joseph was born in Boston on March 23, 1929, to Joseph J. & Dorothea A. (Strecker) Alconada. He was a graduate of Boston Technical School.
Joseph was the beloved husband of Barbara A. (Hough) Alconada. They resided for many years in Stoughton before moving year-round to Martha’s Vineyard. Joseph worked for many years as a sales engineer for Johnson Controls and later for J. Gwynn Company.
Joseph was a communicant of Our Lady of the Rosary, Stoughton. He also enjoyed golf.
Besides his beloved wife, Joseph is survived by his son, Michael J. Alconada of Taunton, his daughter, Cheryl L. Kram of West Tisbury, his brothers Jack of Port Orange, Fla., Frank of Marshfield, and Paul of Weymouth, anda five grandchildren.A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, March 23, at Sacred Heart Parish Church, 55 Commercial St., in Weymouth.
