Interscholastic volleyball season begins

The interscholastic volleyball season got underway on March 14 with five matches played in a six-day span.

Tuesday afternoon the Edgartown Eagles swept the Tisbury Tigers in straight sets 25-15, 25-10, and 25-17. Cana Courtney and Jordan Tate served out the match by winning 10 service points between them in the final set. Doug Norton reeled off seven straight points on serve for the Tigers in the first set.

The West Tisbury Hawks are off to a 3-0 start after a 25-12, 25-17, 25-19 win Tuesday over Oak Bluffs. The Hawks started the season off with successive shutouts, 25-3, 25-7, 25-18 over Tisbury on opening day and 25-18, 25-21, 25-16 over Edgartown on Monday.

Edgartown won their opening match, March 14, three sets to one, over Oak Bluffs.
