Stina Sayre says her new spring/summer collection will be here this weekend. Check it out at 43 Main Street on Friday and Saturday from 10 to 6. You are invited to a reception highlighting the new line from 4 to 6 on Saturday.

It is promising that someone thinks that spring is really coming. I am not sure I trust the crocuses wrapped in snow or even the pinkletinks any more.

The Black Dog is sponsoring an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday at 1 pm at the Black Dog Campus. Find a golden egg and receive a prize. Meet the Black Dog mascot. Take part in the Black Dog Gift Basket raffle to benefit the Committee on Hunger. All this on Saturday.

Last chance to go to a reception for high school artists is on Saturday from 4 to 6 pm in the Virginia Weston Besse Gallery at Featherstone. Gallery hours are 12 noon to 4 pm. Saturday’s reception introduces the art of Ella Mahoney and Victoria Sadowsky, to be displayed through the following Saturday.

The Library will be closed for the holiday on Sunday.

The First Baptist Church welcomes you to attend any Easter service and for breakfast as well. The sunrise service is at 6 am at Community Baptist in Aquinnah. The 9 am service on Eastville Beach (at the bridge) is followed by breakfast at 9:45 at the Baptist parish house on William Street. The Alleluia service is at 11 am at the First Baptist Church on Spring Street. That is followed by an Easter egg hunt, a treat for the children.

You really do not want to keep your old pills. What about the ones that didn’t work? It is safer to get them out of the house. Did you know your old pills will harm our water if you flush them? Keeping them is not a good idea either. Take your old pills in to the Police Station any weekday between 8 and 4.

Renaissance House, now in its 12th season, is a writer’s retreat sponsored by the Helene Johnson and Dorothy West Foundation For Artists In Need. Both women were writers of the Harlem Renaissance. The retreat provides time to create new works or finish existing ones by issue-oriented writers, writers of color, and writers of social justice. The program is offered to artists who do not have the luxury of time. Islanders may take part in day programs at a reduced rate. For more see mvmansionhouse.com.

You will be happy to know that the Slowfood Potluck Dinner is Thursday, April 11, at 6 pm at the Ag Hall. The doors open at 5:30. It’s free. Bring a dish to share with six, using a local ingredient if you can. Bring your own place setting and BYOB. This is a zero-waste event. Dinner will be followed by the annual meeting of Slow Food Martha’s Vineyard where you will hear community stories and meet the new president Aaron Oster.
