Representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Office will hold a workshop on their agency’s economic development and affordable housing programs on April 4 from 2–3:30 pm in the second floor conference room in the VTA Administration Building at the Airport Business Park.

The Martha’s Vineyard Commission (MVC) and Dukes County Commission are hosting the free workshop and have invited all interested town boards, non-profit organizations, and members of the public to attend.

In addition to affordable housing projects, municipalities and public/private non-profit entities are eligible to apply for USDA grants and programs for projects and initiatives related to infrastructure, such as wastewater or solid waste, according to an MVC press release.

The USDA representatives also will discuss their department’s current funding with respect to the federal budget, and answer questions from the audience after their presentations. For more information, contact Christine Flynn at 508-693-3453 or flynn@mvcommission.org.
