To the Editor:
Yesterday, I was coming off Chappy and spied a loon pushing a bait ball in front of the ferry. Bobby saw it too, and we remarked what a clever bird it was.
Weeks ago, I spied my first osprey in Oak Bluffs by the old wind farm, and just before that, I slowed to a crawl over the West Tisbury bridge to watch two otters sun and preen on what was left of the ice on the pond.
Today, I went through the industrialization of the coming roundabout. Sigh. Summer’s coming and everything familiar will hide away. Hopefully there will always be another spring to remind us why we put up with summers.
