To the Editor:
This is a letter of appreciation for our community. I teach at Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School and had been out on medical leave due to a serious illness, from October until last week. I experienced the incredible support that so many others have spoken of regarding our Island community.
Colleagues from the high school provided delicious meals for weeks on end, as well as constant support. Our school administration and our superintendent eased my concerns about needing to use a sick bank. My EMT colleagues at both the Tisbury Ambulance Association and the Tri-Town Ambulance provided a blessing of financial assistance to help defray the myriad costs involved in going to Boston for ongoing treatment.
I am very grateful to everyone who helped to participate in my recovery and intend to pay it forward.
