The 23rd annual Holy Ghost Scholarship Golf Tournament was held Sunday at Mink Meadows Golf Club in Vineyard Haven.

The event raised nearly $21,000 for the Holy Ghost Scholarship Fund. When combined with Friday night’s auction at the Portuguese-American Club in Oak Bluffs, the total raised was $33,000.

The 130 golfers played in morning and afternoon sessions on a beautiful, breezy spring day. Following the golf, the players gathered at the P-A Club for a cookout and the awards ceremony.

The winning quintet was Chuck Andrulat, Keith Fullin, Steve Furtaw, Dana Rezendes, and Nick Townes, who finished with a net score of 56.7. Coming in second with a 57.6 were Dana Kiendzior, Dan Merry, Joe Merry, Matt Merry, and Mike Snowden. Third place belonged to Chris Look, Leslie Look, Robert Lucas, Jim Marshall, and John Moffet with a 57.9. The last group in the money at 58.0 was Tony daRosa, Michael DeBettencourt, Jim Moore, Deacon Perrotta, and Russell Robertson. All four groups donated their winnings back to the Scholarship Fund.

Closest to the pin were: Mike DeBettencourt Jr. (5th hole); Doug DeBettencourt (7th hole); Jarda Kral (14th hole); Nancy Shemeth (16th hole); and Mike Snowden (9th hole, second shot).
