Maybe it’s all the antihistamines talking, but it’s tough to be in a bad mood with weather like this. We even almost have leaves on the oak trees. And forget trying to find parking downtown — this weekend it was a zoo. It seems there was quite the turnout for Pink and Green Weekend, and then some. I was on the ferry coming home on Saturday thinking how amazing it changes from familiar faces to strangers over night. So saddle up: it appears the season is nearly upon us.

We celebrated Mother’s Day under the tent at Farm Neck, which was a first for us. But wow, it seemed like everyone was there. We saw Donna Montesion with daughters Melissa and Martha, Barbara Magnuson, and a whole bunch of other moms taking over a super long table for their annual celebration.

Downtown, we spied members of the Rossi-Serpa crew enjoying a lovely Mom’s Day lunch. Also out and about, we saw Violet Werther taking her momma, Meghan, for a walk, showing off her shiny silver “princess shoes.”

The Edgartown Firemen’s Association threw quite the fete at the fire station — quite apropos with so many of its members new to parenthood. Party people set out long tables clad in colorful tablecloths and balloons for a festive event. With no shortage of celebratory options, it seems moms and kids the Island over had a great day.

Congratulations to Chris and Kelly (Konevich) Scott on their wedding. The two exchanged vows May 3rd, then promptly jetted off to Negril, Jamaica, for some relaxing fun in the sun. Can’t wait to see this always-smiling couple grow old together. Best wishes for a happy marriage.

Kate Walpole is hosting a fun event this Friday at Katydid, where she welcomes the ladies to enjoy a night out browsing the new Spring/Summer collections at Katydid and the Spring line of Rebeccah J. leather goods. So grab a bunch of girlfriends and hit the town.

The Edgartown Board of Trade would like to thank the sponsors, businesses, and restaurants who participated in the Pink & Green Weekend especially their committee members: Christina Cook, Annie Cooke-Ennis, Joan Dunyer, Janice Donaroma, Megan Honey, Katie Steves Jordan, Sydney Mullen, Melanie Rankow Prescott, Erin Ready. From the looks of it, these busy bees are already hard at work cooking up the next event, the MV Food and Wine Festival, which will take place in the fall.

Hospice of Martha’s Vineyard will host a Remembrance Luncheon Sunday, May 19, starting at 12 noon at the Harbor View Hotel to honor those loved ones who have gone before us. Please bring a picture of your loved one to be displayed during the luncheon in a gallery in the Edgartown Room. Call 508-693-0189 to reserve your space.

Birthday wishes go out this week to Jamie Le Blond, who celebrates May 17; to Casey O’Connor on May 19; to Tim Klein and Brandon Willett on May 21; and to Janice Donaroma and Nicole Le Blond on May 22. Hope you all have fun.
