To the Editor:

Who hasn’t been touched in some way by cancer? This terrible disease has taken way too many loved ones before their time and bankrupted others. The community support we show for individuals is truly amazing and one of the reasons I love living here.

The 10th annual American Cancer Society’s Relay Walk for Life will be held Saturday, June 1, through Sunday, June 2, at the MVRHS track. If you’ve never been to a Relay, you are missing out on an incredible community experience. We celebrate our survivors, we remember those we have lost, and we make a pledge to fight back. Most of all we share a common bond which allows us to support each other.

This year our theme is “Carnival for a Cure.” R&B Entertainment will have the music playing from 11 to 11, the Rotary Club will have its Burger Barn, there will be a bouncy house and carnival games and fun for the whole family. The survivors, walk is at 3 pm, and the luminaria is at 9 pm.

We will see an end to cancer in our lifetimes. Help us make that sooner rather than later.
