Jesse “The Machine” Green, star of National Geographic Channel’s popular “American Chainsaw,” program, delighted fans in Edgartown Sunday by carving a large shark sculpture outside Sharky’s Cantina.

It took about three hours to craft the shark’s gaping jaws rising up from the water.

The sculpture will be installed outside the restaurant in July after Mr. Green takes it back to his studio in Medway and does the finishing touches.

According to his father, Jay, who was helping out at the event, he gave Jesse his first saw when he was three-years-old. Now, after finishing art school at UMass Dartmouth, Mr. Green makes his living doing what he loves.

On Saturday night, Mr. Green performed with his band Fevah Dream at Dreamland in Oak Bluffs. The event helped raise funds for Eli Bonnell, an Edgartown man who was seriously injured in a skiing accident this winter in Aspen, Colo.
