MassDOT to repaint State Road markings in July

MassDOT plans to do its annual State Road spruce-up the second week in July. Crosswalks and stop lines will be repainted, and the double yellow centerline touched up where necessary around the Island, according to a department spokesman.

Although maintenance of State Road is MassDOT’s responsibility, there will be one less crosswalk to do, thanks to the Tisbury department of public works (DPW).

When Tisbury DPW workers repainted crosswalk lines on the town’s streets about a month ago, as a courtesy they also did the State Road crosswalks near the Five Corners intersection, DPW director Fred LaPiana said.
