Bunch of Grapes and The Martha’s Vineyard Times are giving away copies of “My Bookstore: Writers Celebrate Their Favorite Places to Browse, Read, and Shop,” and the best part is you get to add your own creative thread to the conversation.
Edited by Ronald Rice, the book is a collection of true tales from writers who were influenced by local bookstores. For some, local bookstores became a creative muse, for others, second homes, and for a few of the most talented, career launching pads.
These stories range from the humorous to the sentimental, from coastal California to right here in downtown Vineyard Haven, from Island connected authors such as Richard Russo and Ward Just to the likes of John Grisham and Dave Eggers.
To enter, write us a personal story about a favorite local bookstore from the past or present and how it helps you, inspires you, or amuses you.
In order to receive your free copy, you must be one of the first 15 people to email your brief or not-so-brief story to firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can pick up the book under your name at Bunch of Grapes. Your stories could be published in a future edition of The Times.
The creative giveaway is part of an ongoing partnership between Bunch of Grapes and The M.V. Times. Look for more chances to win books in upcoming issues.
