The Oak Bluffs Harbor Festival, the unofficial start of the summer season, had it all Saturday. Beautiful weather, smiling visitors strolling the harbor bulkhead and an array of new and familiar vendors.
“This is the grand beginning of summer,” longtime Harbor Fest organizer Terry McCarthy said. “It’s something I’ve been doing for 22 years, and it’s pretty nifty.”
More than 50 artisans, restauranteurs, and nonprofits offered passersby a piece of local culture and cuisine, as well as plenty of merchandise to buy, raffles and activities. Saturdays event also featured live music on the deck of Nancy’s, including performances by local artist Phil DaRosa.
