Tisbury selectmen will vote on a memorandum of understanding (MOU) designed to preserve the water view from the Tashmoo overlook at their meeting Tuesday, July 16. Assistant to the administrator Aasa Jones said selectmen have negotiated an agreement with Thomas and Ginny Payette. At issue are about a dozen trees that have grown up over time and narrowed the view of Tashmoo Pond from State Road.
Ms. Jones also announced the selectman have decided to move their bi-weekly meetings from the Katharine Cornell Theater above the town hall, which has been hot and stuffy in the lanquid summer air, to the more comfortable, air conditioned Tisbury Senior Center on 34 Pine Tree Road, across from the Oak Grove Cemetery, for the remainder of the summer.
Ms. Jones said that the summer heat has made it too uncomfortable to continue meeting at the theater. She expects selectmen will meet in the senior center until the middle of September.
