The owners of two new houses on Harpoon Lane off Edgartown-West Tisbury Road in West Tisbury just west of the fire station will open their homes to the public on Thursday July 18 at 5 pm for an Island Housing Trust sponsored open house.

The affordable, energy-efficient, low-maintenance houses were funded in part by West Tisbury Community Preservation Act funds and offered to qualifying families by lottery. Darcy and Jason Neago and Spencer Binney and Lizzy Kent won the options to buy the houses for $225,000 each.

South Mountain Company of West Tisbury designed and built the houses using what they call their M-Line house plan, an evolving design for affordable, energy efficient houses. South Mountain will make the M-Line designs available to anyone building affordable housing.

Refreshments will be provided at the open house.
