The Martha’s Vineyard Commission (MVC) will resume a public hearing on the Stop & Shop Company’s plans to expand its Vineyard Haven store, at the Tisbury Senior Center, at 7 pm this evening.
The meeting is a continuation of the July 11 public hearing where traffic issues dominated the discussion. The supermarket plans to consolidate three abutting properties, remove the existing buildings, and build a new, two-story, 23,800-square-foot market. The expansion would nearly double the square footage of the current store. The building would also include a 43-spot parking lot in an enclosed area on the ground level and a loading area at the rear, fronting on the town parking lot.
