A huge crowd watched the annual Oak Bluffs fireworks display, and among them, according to pool reports, were President Obama and his family.

The president, Mrs. Obama, and daughters Sasha and Malia traveled from their Chilmark vacation house to the North Bluff neighborhood of Oak Bluffs shortly after 6 pm Friday. They had dinner at the vacation rental home of Valerie Jarrett. She is a longtime Martha’s Vineyard visitor and one of the president’s closest aides.

It was a late night for the Obama family. They did not leave the North Bluff until 11:45 pm, according to pool reports.

Earlier in the day, the Obamas rode bikes along the paved bike trail in the Manuel F. Correllus State Forest. Sasha and Malia Obama joined their parents on Martha’s Vineyard yesterday.

“Hey guys,” President Obama said as he rounded a corner and greeted pool reporters and a few gathered onlookers. “Nice day, huh?”

The president said he was enjoying his vacation as he pedaled away.

“Having a great time, as always,” he said.
