Business Briefs: Squash Meadow Construction completes third LEED home on Martha’s Vineyard

Bill Potter, president of Squash Meadow Company, announced that the company has just completed a new LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified home in Oak Bluffs. It is the company’s third LEED home on the Vineyard and only the second high energy efficient home built in Oak Bluffs given the LEED Certification, according to a press release. The new home is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 1,344-square-foot ranch style modular home in East Chop.

LEED is a language for green building as well as a rating system to determine the efficiency and sustainability of a building. A LEED certification includes rigorous third-party verification and offers proof that the environmental goals of the building have been achieved.

“We are happy to be able to design and build this home within such a tight budget for our client,” Mr. Potter said.
