Raymond George Jr.


Dr. Raymond George Jr., 55, of Henry B. Riordan Way, North Attleboro, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, after being stricken ill while on vacation in San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, on May 20, 1958, he was the son of Dr. Raymond George Sr. of Lincoln, Rhode Island and Theresa (Siedziewskl) George of Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

He resided in Seekonk most of his life, before moving to North Attleboro.

Dr. George was a 1976 graduate of Seekonk High School, Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1986 and Boston University Graduate School of Orthodontics in 1988.

Dr. George was president and an orthodontist at George Family Orthodontics in Seekonk, South Attleboro, and Martha’s Vineyard.

Dr. George was a past president of the Rhode Island Dental Association and the Rhode Island Association of Orthodontists; Bailli of the Rhode Island Chapter of Chaine des Rotisseurs; member of the University Club in Providence, and several other social, civic, and professional organizations.

In addition to his parents, he leaves his three children, Kelsey Ann George, Jenna Rae George, and Nicholas Williams George, all of Seekonk; his sisters and brothers, Joanne George,of Newtown, Conn., and Semia Dunne, Christiaan George, and Chafic George of Lincoln, Rhode Island; nephews and a niece. He also leaves behind his companion, Maria Matracia and several extended family members and dear friends.

Relatives and friends are cordially Invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 from 3–9 pm in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home (the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home),161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, 3/4 mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. A children’s room will be available during visitation.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, August 22, at 10 am at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church,14 Park Street, North Attleboro.

There will be no funeral procession from the funeral home. Burial will be private.
