Poets Corner: Mirrors of Ourselves

What if we saw beyond what others thought.

If we could walk down the hallways of the world and push vanity aside,

and lock it in rusty lockers.

What if mirrors reflected who we are within,

instead of images in our eyes reflecting back,

“not good enough”.

what if prettier, cuter, thinner,

were not things to be jealous of anymore.

What if we strove for knowledge, peace, and a clean world instead.

what if “beauty” didn’t exist in materialistic ways,

instead everyone being truly beautiful,

as peace begins with accepting who we are.
