The seventh annual Vineyard Invitational cross-country meet drew 460 runners from 17 schools to the course at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School (MVRHS) on Saturday. Runners had a beautiful day — warm and breezy, with blue skies — and Vineyard athletes fared well.

Jeremy Alley-Tarter had the best time among Vineyard competitors, completing the 5K course in 17:37. The boys varsity finshed 5th of 13 schools. Martha’s Vineyard girls were 7th out of 11 teams, with Julia Neville obtaining the best score — 29th of 85, with a time of 21:47. Junior varsity boys had five runners in the top 50, with Nate D’Angelo finishing 8th out of 151 runners with a time of 19:01. Ava Thors lead the Vineyard girls jayvees with a time of 25:23, finishing 50th out of 127 runners.

Abbie McNulty of Bishop Feehan broke the girls course record by nearly 30 seconds with a time of 17:32.
