The third annual Martha’s Vineyard Fashion Week (MVFW), which runs from September 16 through 22, includes trunk shows, fashion shows, movie nights, and a one-of-a-kind art reception.
Monday, Sept. 16
The free opening night party kicks off at the Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown, at 7 pm. Party-goers have a chance to preview the week’s upcoming events and learn about Angel Flight NE, the charitable organization that many of the events benefit.
Earlier that day, from 10 am to 6 pm, The Green Room in Vineyard Haven holds a trunk show featuring Aquinnah Jewelry. Designer Kelley Solomon will be present for a meet-and-greet between 3 and 5 pm.
Tuesday, Sept. 17
The Aquinnah Jewelry trunk show continues at The Green Room from 10 am to 6 pm, with a chance to meet the designer between 3 and 5 pm.
There will also be a showing of “Lagerfeld Confidential” at the M.V. Film Center at 7:30 pm.
Wednesday, Sept. 18
Wednesday night at 7 pm will bring the “Life’s a Beach” fashion show to the Sand Bar and Grill on Oak Bluffs harbor, featuring Boston’s Dynasty Models.
Those in need of some relaxation can instead view the movie “Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel” at the M.V. Film Center at 7:30 pm.
Thursday, Sept. 19
The Fabulous Trunk Show will take place at the Vineyard Square Hotel in Edgartown from 1 to 4 pm on Thursday, featuring El Air designs by Miriam Enman, Buddha Kanuddha by Jeanine Mulholland, and more. The afternoon also includes refreshments, and music by Mike Benjamin.
Lure Restaurant at Winnetu Resort will host the “Dream in Beauty” dinner and fashion show at 5:30 pm. Styles include Midnight Farm, Hannah B, The Great Put On, and Timeless Treasures.
Another movie option, “Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s,” will play at the M.V. Film Center at 7:30 pm.
Friday, Sept. 20
Friday, the “Fashion Takes the Stage,” show will take over Flatbread Company at 9 pm. Music by DJ Pretty Ninja, DCLA, and Crooked Coast will be paired with designs by NRO, Jack Wills, Island Outfitters, and Vineyard Vines.
Saturday, Sept. 21
On Saturday, MVFW’s Gala Event begins at 8 pm at Union Chapel in Oak Bluffs. The after party at M.V. Chowder Co. will be accented by cocktails and Chilmark Chocolates.
Sunday, Sept. 22
Festivities return to the Harbor View Hotel on Sunday for a Bridal Soiree. Brides-to-be (or curious hopefuls) can peruse collections of wedding gowns, jewelry, and accessories, taste a variety of celebratory champagnes, and meet with top-notch Island wedding photographers and caterers.
Finally, Fashion Week concludes at The Field Gallery in West Tisbury, with a show titled “A Woman, A Dress and Brush Strokes of Color.” The art reception features a new collection by Island artist Traeger di Pietro, whose canvases were inspired by models who will be at the reception wearing the same looks.
