Susan Grunthal’s lecture series, “The History of Opera”, resumes at the Vineyard Haven and Edgartown Libraries this fall. Ms. Grunthal, who grew up a short distance from Covent Garden, is a music teacher by profession. She began teaching opera history after 30 years in the audience of the Metropolitan Opera and now teaches opera history at the Westchester Collegium, in five different venues. Topics for the fall series include a listening course on Verdi. Ms. Grunthal speaks at the Vineyard Haven Library at 7 pm on September 19, and 10:30 am on September 21. She speaks at the Edgartown Library at 1:30 pm on September 22, and 6:30 pm on September 24.
