Tisbury has declared Saturday, September 28, Electric Vehicle Plug-In Day. On that morning, from 9 am to 12:30 pm, the first Vineyard electric vehicle (EV) plug-in day sponsored by Vineyard Power, the nonprofit electric power co-operative, and Cronig’s Market, will take place under the solar canopies in the down-Island Cronig’s parking lot. The morning event is open to the public.

Visitors may test drive electric cars, including a Tesla, Nissan Leaf, and a Chevy Volt. There will be experts on hand to answer questions on charging stations, electric vehicles, and other forms of alternative transportation. Massachusetts Clean Cities co-coordinator Stephen Russell will answer questions on state EV incentives.
