Tips from a master tennis teacher
Victoria Scott of Edgartown met and got a brief lesson from world-famous tennis coach Nick Bollettieri last weekend, at the Manchester Athletic Club. Victoria was a part of a group that received group instruction from the legendary pro. “It was a once in lifetime experience, being on the same court as Nick, and I received some great tips,” Victoria said.
In his long career, Nick Bollettieri has coached 10 number one players, including Andre Agassi, Boris Becker, and the Williams sisters. Vineyard Youth Tennis director Scott Smith worked for Nick in the 1980s and says he hopes to persuade Nick to come to Vineyard Youth Tennis to speak with young Island players.
