Dr. David Finkelstein of Vineyard Haven recently attended the Annual Ophthalmology Update Seminar in Boston. The two-day seminar included classes in the latest techniques in cataract surgery, age-related macular degeneration, Oculoplastics surgery, management of malignancies of the eyelid, diabetic retinal disease, and the latest technologies to enhance diagnosis of ocular diseases.
There was also an interesting lecture called the Artist’s Eye that demonstrated how painters of the 1800s, as they developed cataracts, lost the blue spectrum of light and how it altered the colors in their paintings.
Dr. Finkelstein also attended a lecture with Dr. Bradford Shingleton and Dr. Ney of Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston about the latest advancements in glaucoma surgery and treatment. For more information, call 508-693-3517.
