Business Brief: Verizon Wireless enhances up-Island 4G coverage

Verizon Wireless has improved its signal on Martha’s Vineyard.

“Recently, Verizon Wireless enhanced its 4G LTE footprint on Martha’s Vineyard by adding hardware to its existing cell sites and upgrading nodes on the distributed antenna system (DAS) in Aquinnah and Chilmark,” said Rich Enright, Director of Network Performance New England for Verizon Wireless. “This investment provides additional 4G LTE coverage with speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G, to customers living, working, and vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard. In the first half of 2013, Verizon Wireless completed $100 million in wireless network enhancements across New England, increasing the company’s regional network investment to more than $3.4 billion since its inception in 2000.”
