How ’bout them Sox, am I right? What an exciting few weeks they provided for us around here, not to mention one heck of a thrilling and quite unexpected season. Thursday night, as Husband Dave and I wrapped up our wait for the 2 to 4 trick-or-treaters we might expect on a given year (this year was a big zero), Dave stumbled to bed at 8:06 with the parting words, “Do you realize if there were a Game Seven, it wouldn’t even have started yet?” Shudder to think! I could not have handled one more late night of nail-biting. So thanks, Sox. Thanks for letting us sleep. And thank you for setting razors happily abuzz throughout the land — good riddance, beards!

Wedding bells rang out in Bethlehem, New Hampshire, this weekend, where Ashley Tate and Heather Lee Murphy exchanged “I do”s. The two tied the knot pn October 31 at the Highlands Inn in a simple, elegant ceremony, surrounded by family. Congratulations to the newly minted Van Murphys, and best wishes for a happy marriage.

I’ve had word from my neighbor, Barbara Wilson, that there is much to celebrate here in the ‘hood this week, as daughter Katharine turns 21 on November 11, which is also Barbara and husband Jon’s anniversary, as well as another neighbor, Phil Upham’s birthday. So I guess you’d call that a Boldt Farms Trifecta. Can we say block party?

The Martha’s Vineyard Museum will be hosting five community forums during the month of November to share ideas and discuss plans for the former Marine Hospital/St. Pierre School of Sport property, which will be the site of the Museum’s future campus. Staff and board members want to share objectives for the transformation with the community and get their feedback. Preliminary plans for the site will be presented followed by a discussion where people will have the opportunity to share comments and ideas and ask questions. The Edgartown forum will all take place Tuesday, November 19th at the Federated Church from 5:30 to 7 pm. Visit www.mvmuseum.org for more information.
