The Vineyard Montessori School parent teacher organization staged its very popular fund raising event Saturday, where kids of all ages got to sit in big trucks, little trucks, fire trucks, veterinarian trucks, and just about every other kind of truck. Also on hand were a large assortment of excavators, front end loaders, school buses, and an 18-wheeler or two.
A big hit this year was the Massachusetts State Police helicopter which landed in the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School parking lot, and immediately drew a crowd of kids who waited for a chance to sit in the helicopter and explore the aircraft.
The #99 Clermont Construction Camaro street stock race car was also a big draw.
Though the organizers are still compiling statistics, it seems certain the event set a record for excited kids.
