Laurie is retiring

The Anchors, Edgartown’s Counsel on Aging, will hold an open house from 2 to 4 pm on Thursday, November 14 to honor Laurie Schreiber, the Anchors Director of Senior Services, who will retire on November 22 after 28 years. Join board members, friends, seniors, and staff as they acknowledge, honor, and celebrate Laurie and her achievements. Snacks and beverages will be served. Holistic potluck

The Martha’s Vineyard Whole Health Alliance board of directors is extending an invitation to all Island holistic practitioners and other interested individuals to a Potluck Get Together at 6 pm on Wednesday, November 20, at the Island Cohousing common room. The purpose, according to a press release, is to plan “2014 forums on holistic approaches to common health challenges.” Bring a dish to share. 2014 Tower learning disabilities grants available

The Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation is accepting inquiries for its 2014 Learning Disabilities grant cycle. To be eligible to apply, organizations must be located in Barnstable, Dukes, Essex, or Nantucket Counties in Massachusetts and have a project or program that addresses the needs of children, adolescents, and young adults (to age 26) with learning disabilities.
